Energy Express Mobile Microgrid

The Energy Express is a self-contained mobile microgrid built by Solar Alternatives: a wrapped 16-foot trailer carrying two Tesla Powerwalls, a rooftop solar array, and a deployable ground array that sets up on any open field or lot.

It runs silently and produces no exhaust, which means it can sit right next to a stage, a tent, a food line, or a crowd — places a diesel generator simply cannot go. There are no fuel deliveries to schedule, no fuel-storage permits to pull, and no noise complaints to field. Roll it in, plug in, and you have clean power for the day.

For Corporate & Marketing Events

A working sustainability story your guests can see rather than read about — the Energy Express is a branded, photogenic centerpiece that also does real work:

  • Sound, AV, lighting, and display power
  • Attendee device-charging stations
  • Brand activations and product launches
  • Festivals, markets, and outdoor venues
  • Evening events and holiday light installations
  • Film, photo, and production support

For Nonprofits & Community Organizations

The Energy Express grew out of Louisiana’s storm-recovery work, and it still does that work. We offer it to qualifying nonprofits and community organizations at a discounted rate, and donate it in-kind for causes we support. Common uses include:

  • Disaster response and emergency power
  • Cooling and warming centers
  • Food distribution and medical support sites
  • Neighborhood block parties and festivals
  • School and educational demonstrations
  • Resilience-planning field exercises
