Recharging after Isaac

Among other things, Hurricane Isaac caused major power outages through out South East Louisiana especially to the metro New Orleans area. Since most residents had no other way to communicate to loved ones or receive updates on weather and news outside of their cellphones, it was critical for them to have someplace to charge these devices.

Solar Alternatives assisted New Orleans area citizens with recharging their cell phone batteries along with other electronic devices by providing a charging station at the Whole Foods Market Arabella. This charging station was equipped with several outlets that could be plugged into.

Solar Alternatives created a standalone enclosure that used the sun’s energy to charge several batteries for use when needed via solar panels mounted to the top of the enclosure. This portable station can be used in almost any instance when an alternate energy source is needed or when typical grid power is down.
